Liking The OT Rule

It took a great effort by the Pats to beat the Jets 29-26 in overtime. It should never have gotten to that point. The Pats continue with their inability to close out games, especially with a 10 point lead in the fourth quarter.

I like the new overtime rules where each team gets a possession. The coin toss was still critical because it gave the ball to the Pats who went on to kick a field goal. The Jets needed a FG to tie or a TD to win the game. It was now up to the defense to take care of things. Sanchez was able to drive his team until the final play where he coughed up the ball on a fumble.

At least the Jets had the ball once. It was incumbent upon them to score, but they didn't. Game over. I think this is a much fairer way to decide the outcome.
