The Door Is Closing

The options for Jets QB Tim Tebow are getting fewer. Gang Green plans to release his soon according to reports. In Jacksonville, new GM Dave Caldwell has already washed his hands of the native son. Last season, the Jaguars and Jets were the only teams that expressed interest in a trade. He might have more options as a free agent.

Could he end up in New England with his former Coach Josh MacDaniels who drafted him? Tebow insists that he wants to compete as a QB. If that's the case, his best option might be to head north to the CFL like Doug Flutie did for several years. Most teams view him as a tight end or fullback.

I admire Tebow's determination to play his favorite position, but the writing is on the wall. He will never get a chance to compete unless a team wants him. I would have no problem if the Pats brought him into training camp next summer. However, it would be as a tight end and the roster is already full of them.
