Can't Win Them All

The careers of Tom Brady and Payton Manning will always be compared. Brady comes out on top with three Super Bowls wins to Manning's one when you judge by championships.

The loss by the Denver Broncos to the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional playoffs was just one more negative mark on Manning's career. It looks worse when you consider he has a record of 0-4 when the temperature is below 40 degrees.

In spite of his outstanding regular season accomplishments, he has never matched Brady in the playoffs.  Manning has a 9-11 record in the post-season. He has twelve trips to the playoffs, but never made it past the first round in eight of them. He made it to the AFC Championship Game three times with a chance to advance to the Super Bowl, but has a 1-2 record. He was only able to hoist the Lombardi Trophy once.

It's not a knock on his career. The quarterback gets a lot of the credit when his team wins, but also gets the blame. LB Ray Lewis is the face of his franchise, a rarity for a defensive player. In his illustrious career, he has only been played in one Super Bowl which the  Ravens won in 2000. He never made it back. It's now or never for him.
