A Game Never Played

After Alabama won their second consecutive BCS national championship and the third in four years, the talk began about whether that squad could beat a team from the NFL.

First, the game would never happen because of the concern for injuries. The NFL is very protective of its image so there would be nothing to be gained by playing.

It does create a great deal of hypothetical talk about a match-up. Last year, Alabama had four of the first 33 players selected in the NFL draft. Teams around the league are filled with players from Nick Saban's teams.

I think the NFL would win the battle based on depth, but it would be a very fascinating game.
