A Soft Record

NFL career records don't always tell the real story. Many regard Hall of Famer Jim Brown as the greatest running back of all time. His career average carry of 5.22 yards was the record until two weeks ago when Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles surpassed him with an average of 5.82 yards.

This record might not last that long. Charles will have his average effected if he continues to play. I think his record is soft because he did it on 770 attempts while Brown did his with 2,359. In fact, Charles just met the bare minimum of 750 career carries to qualify for the record.

Let's see where he stands after next season.
