Drawin The Line

After the first pre-season game against the saints, there should be some concern about the offensive line. It's a work in progress, but also one with many question marks. Nobody really knows when Logan Mankins will return from his ACL surgery. Everyone seems to think that Brian Waters will appear on the roster before the start of the first game like he did last year. Sebastian Vollman was drafted with the knowledge that he had a history of back issues. He still has not been able to practice and might start the season on the PUP.

The retirement of Matt Light created a big void at left tackle. Dan Koppen missed all of last season with a broken ankle suffered in the season opener. He has not looked good in practice. It seems like the team is signing offensive linemen every day.

Coach Dante Scarnecchia had been lauded for his ability to put a solid line together. This might be his biggest challenge yet. Tom Brady got knocked around against the Saints. That can't continue if the team has any hopes for a winning season.
