Toning Down Madden

Madden Football has been the ultimate video game in terms of sales. Over the last 22 years, they have sold 90 million copies. Last year there were sales of 5 million.

With such a successful product, Madden 12 will be on the concussion bad wagon. There will be no hits to head or on defenseless players. They are trying to go along with the trend of eliminating some unnecessary violence including launching oneself while tackling.

It will be interesting to see if toning the game down down decreases sales. There are many repeat buyers. I wonder if they will like it. We all know that the NFL has showcased its bone-crushing hits as part of its marketing to the public. A lot of the new rule changes will effect how the game is played.
