The End of Chad?

It doesn't matter which round a players gets drafted in. Some appear to be jinxed for injuries throughout their playing days. QB Chad Pennington is a great example.

He was in the same draft class as Tom Brady. However, he was drafted as the 18th pick in the first round by the New York Jets rather than the 5th round for Brady. He won a starting job, but was derailed by shoulder injuries.

He has faced four surgeries on his shoulder causing him to miss significant parts of seasons. He signed with the Miami Dolphins for the 2008 season. His surgeries have given him the chance to win the Comeback Player of the Year in 2006 and 2008.

After being hurt in 2010, he was hoping to sign with another team as a free-agent. This plan will most likely not happen as Chad tore his ACL the other day while playing a pickup basketball game. If he never plays again, the record will show that he was 1,632 of 2,471 passing attempts for 17,823 yards with 102 TD's during eight seasons with the Jets and three with the Dolphins.
