Three In A Year

The clock is ticking very ominously on Broncos WR Wes Welker after his concussion in last Saturday night's game against the Houston Texans. It was his third in the last twelve months.

The play was very typical of Welker who has taken a beating over the course of his career. He took a tremendous hit after getting the ball in his hands. His head took the force of the blow.

How many more concussions can he take? He reminds me so much of Wayne Chrbet, the former Jets receiver who took an untold number of hits to his head in his illustrious career. It all came to an end for him with one final reception and concussion that forced him into retirement.

I hope that Welker doesn't occur the same fate, but he is going in that direction.
