More To Practice

I think that it was a great idea for the NFL to expand their practice squads to ten players and change the criteria for those on it. The league is full of success stories of players who couldn't make the team in their rookie training camp, but went on to have great careers.

As the season winds into November, teams are filled with injuries and often have issues with practicing. This allows for healthy players to be on the scout team.

The new guidelines will allow clubs to keep a player on the practice squad for up to three seasons. They will now have the options to stay on the squad for six games instead of the current three before counting it as a season.

Too many players never get a chance to play in the league. The talent pool is there, but the jobs don't exist. There will now be more opportunities.
