A Game Too Long

The NFL is placing more emphasis on defensive holding and interference this season. The referees are calling more penalties than ever. When the Pats played the Eagles the other night, they combined for 21 infractions. The game lasted over 3.5 hours.

The league wants more scoring and offense, but not at the cost of longer games. The penalties and replays are making the games too long. They want them to last about three hours.

The Competition Committee will need to look at this when they meet at the end of the season. The last thing the NFL wants is to lose people from the television audience.
