Maybe The End of Vince

Many players sign large contracts, but never see all of the money. The team will either restructure it or release the player. We are seeing that now with Vince Wilfork.

He is in the final year of a $5 year/ $40 million contract. His salary cap number is around $11 million for the 2014 season. He is coming back from a torn Achilles. The team was able to replace him with several promising rookies and free agents.

I don't think the Pats will be willing to absorb that much of a cap hit. I look for him either being released or playing for around $3-4 million. It's still good money, but his big paydays are over unless he wants to head to another team. At his age and recent injury, any team will be taking a gamble.
