A Bunch of Characters

Whenever the Pats acquire a player with character issues, we hear the same discussion that the team has changed its direction about signing players with questionable backgrounds. The league is full of players with various issues.

The recent trade for CB Aqib Talib shows that the Pats are willing to do what it takes to win. They were able to scoop up CB Alfonso Dennard in the 7th round of the 2012 draft because he was previously arrested the week before. Many thought he would have been a 2nd or 3rd round selection. They said the same for Aaron Hernandez who slipped to the 4th round after testing positive for pot.

Ted Washington and Corey Dillon helped them win a Super Bowl. They took a shot with Albert Haynesworth and Chad Johnson, but it didn't work out for either one of them.

LB Brandon Spikes had some off-field issues. He is also considered by many to be a dirty players, but because he plays for our team, he is ok.
