There is no fair or sensible way to select the players for the Pro Bowl. Selection to the team is part of anyone's resume on the way to the Hall of Fame. Canton is filled with perennial Pro Bowl players.
The league decided to get the fans involved a few years ago. People can go to the league's website and vote as many times as they want. The fan vote receives a weighted score, along with the votes by the players and coaches.
Every year there are questionable selections. Brandon Merriweather made it in the past and now he rides the bench in Chicago.
If I had the final say, it would be the players, coaches and some members of the media who make the final selections.
