Albert Resurfaces

I think all Pats fans wanted it to work out for Albert Haynesworth and the team. In the end, he was released. He was immediately claimed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his introductory press conference, he mentioned that his departure from the Pats was because he wanted to play more.

I don't doubt his statement about wanting to play more, but in the eyes of Coach Belichick, he did not earn it. When he came into camp, he was suppose to be paired up with Vince Wilfork in a 4-3 defensive scheme. Haynesworth struggled with injuries and never able to get it going The Pats had enough depth to let him sit on the bench.

Maybe it will work for him in Tampa Bay. It's sad to see such a talented player squander his career. He made a lot of money with the Redskins. I hope he has some of it left. I think his legacy will be that of a player with immense talent who was never able to put it together on the field.
