Sanchez Gets Some Life

The quarterback circus continues with the New York Jets. After they cut Tim Tebow, they still had five on the roster. Gino Smith has made a big impact during his first appearance with the team. Mark Sanchez was considered to be on the bubble.

With the sudden retirement of David Garrad, it looks like Sanchez might get a second life. The only two quarterbacks left are Greg McElroy and Matt Sims.

Many thought the plan would be to release Sanchez and have Garrard mentor Smith until he is ready to start. McElroy would be the third. Now, it's all changed.

If the Jets plan to release Sanchez, they need to have another veteran on the roster. They should have known they were taking a risk with Garrard. He has not played since 2010 because of a left knee problem which ultimately forced him to retire.
