Flores vs NFL

The NFL has drawn a line in the sand with their complete dismissal of the allegations made against the league by former Dolphins coach Brian Flores.

They said his claims of discrimination are baseless, although his lawyers filed a very extensive brief outlining the charges against the NFL, Dolphins and Giants.

Is the league prepared to play this out in public or buy his silence with a huge financial settlement?

Trading To Save

It's looking more likely that 49er's QB Jimmy Garoppolo will be traded before the start of next season. They drafted Trey Lance in the first round last year as his eventual replacement.

They need to release or trade him before the final year of his 5 year/$137.5 million contract kicks in. This will free up considerable salary cap space and only cost them a $1.4 million charge in dead money.

Jimmy G will be another player who never sees the end of his contract.

20 Years Ago Tonight

It all happened 20 years ago tonight when the Pats beat the Rams 20-17 to win Super Bowl XXXVI.

Many thought the game would go into overtime as it was tied at 17 until Tom Brady drove the field to allow Adam Vinatieri to kick the winning field goal with seconds left.

Nobody could ever predict the Pats dynasty that would follow or the enormous success Tom Brady would achieve.

A Suit For Brian

Former Dolphins coach Brian Flores has filed a massive lawsuit against the NFL, Dolphins, Giants and Broncos over their hiring processes.

Details from the suit paint a bad picture for the league and teams involved. Naturally, there is a connection to the Pats because of text messages sent by Coach Belichick to Flores by accident rather than Brian Daboll.

This is going to get a lot worse unless there is a settlement of some type.

Are You Leaving?

Tom Brady finally announced his retirement. Does that mean he can never return? It looks like he wants to move on with his life at 44.

There are those who will look at every detail about how he handles this. Talk radio is already sounding foolish.

The post-season is never without drama.
