A Numbers Game

It's getting to the point where some NFL teams can no longer retire the numbers of former players. With only 99, they start to run out of numbers fast on some teams when trying to dress the training camp roster.

Every team has a Ring of Honor or a Hall of Fame. The ultimate honor for any player is to have their number retired. Some teams are getting to the point where there is shortage of numbers. They are rethinking whether they can retire a legendary one.

Such is not he case with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They've had some success and the worst teams since their emergence into the NFL in 1976.

The only number they ever retired was #63 with Hall of Famer Lee Roy Selman. That will change now with #99 DT Warren Sapp.

When he gets inducted into the team's Ring of Honor, they will retire his number during the Monday Night Football game against the Miami Dolphins on November 11th.

It should be retired because of his election to the Hall of Fame. You must retire those numbers or none at all.
