Tedy In Boston

The health of former NFL players is nothing to be proud of. They have a huge mortality rate at younger ages. Long term effects from concussions are one of the biggest problems, in addition to crippling orthopaedic injuries.

Terrell Owens was just in the news for recently being treated for a possible prescription drug overdose. So many players live the rest of their life in physical pain. Drug abuse is almost inevitable.

Former Pats LB Tedy Bruschi is someone who is trying to take care of himself in retirement. He has lost a significant amount of weight and looks very trim when I see him on ESPN. He recently ran a half marathon with his wife Heidi in 2:10:05.

Last Monday while interviewing Coach Belichick on WEEI, Bruschi mentioned that he will be running the Boston Marathon next April. Tedy will be following the trend set by former LB Steve DeOssie who ran Boston a few years ago.

Based on Tedy's recent half marathon time, there would be no contest between him and DeOssie in the marathon.
