The Bad Agent

The situation of QB Mark Sanchez is a warning to all players. Sanchez was a victim of an unscrupulous agent who bilked him out of $7.8 million in a Ponzi scheme. No arrests have been made, but the agent is under investigation by the SEC.

Many players trust their financial decisions to agents who only care about themselves. The league is full of stories about players losing most of their money.

Sanchez won't be the last victim. It happens every year. The NFL needs to do a better job in working to with the NFLPA to weed out bad agents.
