Why Leave Alabama?

Coach Nick Saban of Alabama has a chance to get to the BCS finals if his team beats Michigan State tonight in the Cotton Bowl. Another national championship would be his fourth in nine years with the Crimson Tide.

He has the perfect deal with Alabama. He gets paid a ton of money with many side benefits and is almost king in his state. Why would he leave to go back to the NFL where he got fired by the Miami Dolphins?

Last night, a talk show host insisted that Saban will test the waters. He might do that, but at this point in his career, it would be pointless to leave this gig unless he became totally bored.

It's not a crime that he didn't succeed in the NFL. He found his niche at the college level. I can't imagine Bill Belichick coaching a college team.
