With practice starting today, it only was natural that the media dig for stories. They are looking for one in Brian Waters not being here. He has another years on his contract that will pay him $1.4 million. He was placed on the "Did not report" list.
It appears that Waters might be excused from camp. He was signed to the team before the first game of last season. He had no problems missing camp, assimilating himself into the offensive line and earning Pro Bowl honors.
Coach Belichick was in classic mid-season form today at his press conference as he deflected questions about Waters. I would be shocked if he retired. I'm sure Belichick is letting him miss camp. It keeps him healthy and the team is able to give playing time to those who really need it.
