Start of the Process

The line has been drawn between former NFL players and the owners in their lawsuit about whether the game caused long-term brain injuries. A federal judge has consolidated 80 separate lawsuits into one gigantic class-action against the league.

If this case ever makes it to trial, it will be a long process. It could take years. As it proceeds, there will be some ugly charges coming out. Today, we heard from former Pats RB Kevin Turner who charges he has Lou Gehrig's Disease from head trauma during his career.

The suit could cost the league hundreds of millions of dollars. I think at some point, there will be a settlement. It will cost the league a great deal of money. At this point, it's a matter of the final amount. It will be devastating for the owners.
