Early Planning

Pats rookie CB Joejuan Williams has only been active for three games, but is a great example for other younger players.

As the 13th selection in the second round, he signed a four year/ $6.6 million contract with $4.1 guaranteed.

He said he invests at least 90% of his money from his game checks. He is determined not to be broke when he is older as is the case with so many players.

He paid off his mother's student loans and bought her a car, but has avoided splurging on big ticket items.

Plays have the opportunity to have lifetime financial security, but make many bad decisions along the way. They have too much money at an early age and think it will last forever.
