Giving Up Less

At the end of Week 6, the Pats sport a 5-1 record and are ranked #2 in points allowed. Coach Belichick always places an emphasis on points, but it's not good enough for some of the local talk show people.

The Pats have an issue on third down and give up too many passing yards. Those numbers don't usually translate into fewer points, but the defense has prevented the big plays.

Too much emphasis is given to statistics. Points allowed tells a lot about a team. I would take that any day.
