NIKE Pays Big

NIKE has unveiled the uniforms that Alabama and Oregon will wear in their BCS Championship game. The Oregon ones will be without any of the school's traditional yellow and green colors. Ohio State's red shirt will be a tribute to the 1968 national championship team.

Many football purists object to the NIKE uniforms. Both schools will reap a big payment for wearing the stuff. NIKE paid Oregon $600,000 in cash this year as well as a $2.2 million equipment allowance. Ohio State had it even better with $1.5 million in cash and $2.5 million for equipment.

With that type of money, NIKE can dictate the colors. The schools don't mind the payments.
