Norman's Move

Players who are offered the franchise tag run the risk of losing money if they don't accept the one year deal. CB Josh Norman of the Carolina Panthers had a chance to make a guaranteed $13.952 million in 2016.

He was looking for a longer term contract with more money. Norman and the Panthers could not reach a deal so they rescinded the tag, making him a free agent.

Norman will find out if he is worth the $15-16 million that he feels he should get. The Panthers were offering him $11 million. This was a risky move on is part. He probably didn't think the Panthers would pull the money off the table.
