Not Much Mayo Left

Jerod Mayo has ended up on Injured Reserve with a season ending shoulder injury. This is the third consecutive season for him. At 29, he may have played his last game in Foxborough.

Mayo had a brilliant start to his career after being the 10th overall selection in the 2008 draft. He consistently lead the team in tackles until the injuries struck him.

He has played in a backup role this year with a restructured contract. In all likelihood, he will be released at the end of the season because of his $11.4 million salary cap hit.

It remains to be seen if he will ever play again, but it won't be here.
