Michael's Road

Michael Sam, the first openly player in the NFL was released by the St Louis Rams. He cleared waivers and is now a free agent. The Rams decided not to sign him to their Practice Squad. What happens next?

I heard a great critique of him that really nailed it. Sam is an undersized defensive end who doesn't want to switch positions and has no role on special teams. That says it all.

It sounds similar to Tim Tebow who disregards any thought of changing positions.

Julian Edeleman would not be playing in the NFL if he insisted on playing quarterback, the position he excelled at Kent State.
