Sometimes, there can be a conflict of interest. We are seeing that with the use of former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum. His comments on how teams would handle various situations is very insightful. However, he should refrain from commenting about players from his former team. He has shared insight into Mark Sanchez and Darrell Reavis.

Although he has tried to sound impartial, it must be very difficult to talk about Sanchez. The contract he renegotiated with his quarterback is one of the reasons he is now on the NFL Network and not preparing the Jets for free agency and the draft.
