The worst thing about the loss to the 49er's the other night was the call on 4th down late in the fourth quarter. It didn't work out and the Pats surrendered the ball. One play does not win or lose a game.
Unfortunately, we will now talk about this for years to come. One local sports talk show will not move on from the 4th down play against the Colts in 2009. The Pats didn't convert and lost the game.
If a play works, it's a great decision. When they don't and the team loses, we end up hearing about it forever. There are those who are always trying to find fault with something that Coach Belichick does. They now have another thing to hang onto.
