Last Sunday night, a member of the Boston media mentioned that one of the wild cards for the Pats would be whether any veteran players retired. It happened today with Rob Ninkovich.

When he didn't show up at training camp, rumors started to fly. It became official at a press conference today when he made his announcement.

Something happened after OTA's and now to finalize his decision. He looked very happy about it. Not many players get to leave the NFL on their own terms, but Rob did.
