Ramping Up Rex

If the strategy used by Rex Ryan helps the Jets beat the Pats on Sunday, he will regard himself as a genius. Ryan has taken on a personal crusade against Bill Belichick saying that it's a match between the two coaches. He is right to a certain degree.

Belichick has deflected all of Ryan's rhetoric by saying neither coach is suiting up for the game on Sunday. It's hard to gauge the motivation behind Ryan's bluster.

He is certainly putting himself out on a limb with some of his comments. Although I find them quite entertaining, they border on being absurd.

The Past need to win on Sunday, not only to keep their season alive, but to silence Ryan once and for all. No matter what the outcome is, we have not heard the last from Rex. A loss to the Jets would make last season's loss to the Ravens seem like nothing.
