UConn Is First

UConn became the first Division 1 school to cancel its football season because of the pandemic.

As an Independent, it faced an uphill battle to have a fall schedule. Games with Indiana, Illinois, Ole Miss and Maine had already been canceled. Another two with North Carolina and Virginia are in jeopardy.

The team has not had any players test positive for the Coronavirus, but school officials looked at the broader picture and decided to wait until 2021.
