A Safe Record

The Indianapolis Colts plan to retire Peyton Manning's number and erect a statue outside of Lucas Oil Field. That seems to be the appropriate thing to due considering his impact on the franchise and city.

Manning holds so many team and league records. Some will never be broken, especially the 114 touchdowns that he hooked up with Marvin Harrison. Nobody is even close.

QB Phillip Rivers and TE Antonio Gates of the San Diego Chargers have 76 together, but Gates is almost at the end of his career.
