Painting the Wall

One of Coach Belichick's moves caught the attention of the media as well as his players. Large pictures of significant game highlights have been removed from the walls of the locker room. When asked about it, Belichick remarked that the wall needed to be painted.

He further stated that this 2010 team needs to establish its own identity. He wanted to sever any connection to the past. Many "experts" are questioning whether the team can do better than a 9-7 record this season.

Tom Brady, Matt Light and Kevin Faulke are the only players left from the three Super Bowl championship teams. Only 17 players remain from the undefeated 2007 regular season.

It's time to move on. Belichick has a strong sense of the history of the game, but this team has to move forward and forge its own identity. Winning three super Bowl has nothing to do with this year's team. It won't help them win the Eastern Division or make the playoffs.
