Chuck Noll

Fans tend to be more focused on the present than the past, but the passing today of former Steelers Coach Chuck Noll brought me back to the great Pittsburgh teams of the 1970's. He lead them to four Super Bowl wins, but in the process, assembled a collection of Hall of Fame players.

Their Steel Curtain defense was one of the best in NFL history. The names of the players on both sides of the ball are a roll of honor for legends.

Younger fans can see these moments captured on NFL Films, but I knew I was watching greatness back then. I will always be a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
