It was a great idea for the NFL to guarantee every television market at least three Sunday afternoon games, as well as SNF.

Everyone who wants to watch a game should be able to find one, in addition to their own team.

It's all about money. Network are paying a ransom to broadcast games. They want the matchups that fans want.

More revenue means a bigger pie for ownership and players to split.
