Not Seeing The Money

The Pats are signing their draft picks like most other teams. Every player has a guaranteed salary and a slot for a signing bonus. Many of these players will threaten the jobs of veterans based on their salary cap implication. We are seeing that all around the league.

OL Dan Connelly might find himself expendable with his huge cap hit. The same goes for players on other teams. Many of them finally signed a nice free agent contract when they became eligible. Now, they won't see the money. It's all part of the system to keep player costs down
