Committing Too Much Money
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco got his wish to be the highest paid player in the NFL. It doesn't matter that his contract might come back to bite the team down the road. He signed for six years at $120.6 million, with $60 million guaranteed.
Flacco is one of seven quarterbacks in the league to lead his team to a Super Bowl win. He said he was going to be the highest paid one and he did it. His contract will impact the team down the road in their ability to sign their own players and free agents.
It will be interesting to see if Flacco collects every dollar owed him with out having the contract renegotiated. I predict that within a couple of years the Ravens will do something. They have too much money committed to him.
